everything electric (wipers, headlights, etc) quit working
I drive my 2006 HHR for my personal and business use. This is my most recent issue, I will be adding to other categories as well. In short, this car is absolute crap. Do not buy one, do not drive one if you don't have to and avert your gaze if one goes by. Yes, it's that bad.
This most recent issue has to do with the fact that the car just quit working. My daughter drove it to work one morning and when she got there it wouldn't let the key out of the ignition. The alarm was going off, she couldn't get the key out and she couldn't start the car. The alarm just kept going, lights flashing until it killed the battery...about 35 minutes later. This was at 6:00am.
Had it towed to my personal mechanic. He checked everything and found nothing wrong at all. He charged the battery and after replacing the starter again (he just did it about 2 weeks ago, wanted to make sure it wasn't faulty) and nothing. So he decided to go out, have dinner and a beer and try again when he got home.
He comes home and the car battery is dead...for no reason. He recharges it and it starts! However, now there are no headlights, no working wipers, no working dash lights...nothing. Not sure what tomorrow will bring. Maybe it will transform into a different car? One can only dream......
