we bought a Van Chevrolet 1999 V8 express in Belgium and the fuel pump was broke.the garage put another fuel pump in it and after that, we had a lot of black smoke coming out the exhaust.the car went back to another garage and they said it was a wrong fuel pump they put inside because the fuel pump give double more pressure than it is admit.they said also that the object who measure the fuel pressure was broke because of the wrong fuel pump.first they said to put the wright fuel pump and then the problem of the smoke will be ok.now they said that we must arrange first the object that measure the fuel pressure and then the fuel pump.in Belgium they sell VAN'S but when there is a problem nobody knows anything we went to 3 garages and nobody can help us.i will also ask if the right fuel pump is inside, the object to measure the fuel pressure will not arrange himself or is it necessary to repair both. i hope you can help us my excuses for my bad English i will thank you already. my e-mail address is helena-dingemans@hotmail.com
the fuel pump went out in march 2006 and i replaced it. it went out again in September 2006. it went out in feb. 2007 and i also replaced the fuel pump relay and now three weeks later it's out again. It has gone out 4 times in less than a year! What could be causing the fuel pump to keep going out??
