Touch screen non-responsive, 2 times from 70-71k
I bought this 2019 LS1 1.6? Liter Turbo with 68,000 miles. The touchscreen for the infotainment system has frozen twice in a matter of less than 1,000 miles. I was able to reset the screen by disconnecting the battery. I am afraid however, that this is a temporary fix to a potentially expensive, out of warranty repair that will need to be done in the future. I’m wondering if I should trade this vehicle now, before anything else goes wrong, and before the almost new (cheap-o dealer installed) tires (that are wearing out quickly) need to be replaced to the tune of $700-800 or more for decent ones.
Any advice? I’m over 71,000 miles and the model year will be a year older in a matter of 6 to 8 weeks probably, when the 2025 models are shipped. Only had this 6 months, and didn’t know that the water pump (which goes out on every car) is a $1,000 repair (minimum), thanks to the genius engineers who crammed the water pump underneath and intertwined with other components. Good things about vehicle: A/C works great, sound system is very good quality for stock (it “booms!”), and it’s a decent looking vehicle with room for drivers up to 7 feet tall. (My nephew can sit in driver’s seat.)
