Purchased the car new. Dealer stated that they filled it up albeit gauge only read 3/4. Said he had a memo from GM albeit they were not doing anything at that time to fix it. Said if I put gas in it should register as "normal." . Prior to driving my wife to work I checked the range and it registered 218 miles. Ten minutes on the highway the gauge dropped to 0 and the low fuel warning came on. Stopped to get gas and it only took 5 gallons. Drove the car the next day and the check engine light came on and stayed on. Took it to the dealer, explained the problem. They had it for an entire day, called me back and said they test didn't show what was wrong with the car. They called me back the next day and said they had to order a new gas tank. I asked but what about the check engine light? They said that was related to the original problem? Said they will have a new gas tank ordered and it will be here in one week! J.D. Power must be getting paid off by GM to get all those awards for quality. This is my first American car purchase since 1970. I've owned Honda's since that time and NEVER once did I have to take any of them in for a warranty issue. I guess the saying is right.....You get what you pay for!. Dealer said I could drive it until the tank comes in like it is. Really? I guess I could drive it with a flat tire as well then.
