On 11/25/21, I was driving home and decided to open the sunroof shade. It opened partially but made a strange crunching noise. I decided to open it all the way and two clips that held the shade onto the track fell off into my lap, completely severing connection between the shade and the track. The shade is now stuck open. The dealership said that the cost was $450+ to fix and called for 5 hours of labor due the the sunroof windows needing to be removed to get to install new clips. Luckily my extended care package with Allstate agreed to pay for it. The car only has 41,000 miles on it and I wouldn't imagine the sunroof gets much traffic anyway so the part definitely failed prematurely and is what I'd consider a defect.
