Severe oil consumption which could lead to damage to engine and vehicle failure when driving, which could cause an accident or worse. The dealer stated that the rear main seal could blow out and cause the vehicle failure. Defective parts that GM is aware of, but not addressing to the owners. There is a service bulletin (14882) that dealers are aware of concerning this issue, for an extended warranty of 120,000 or 10 years, no charge to customers to repair. Part#12591866.crankshaft real oil seal. The dealer refuses to honor it.
The roof of my 2016 Chevrolet Equinox the clear coat has started to bubble and lift in blotches. This car is the titanium color (dark grey metallic) I've taken very good care of my car. This is my first GM vehicle that I've ever purchased new. My car is under cover in a car port. The VIN# indicates it was built in Canada. I believe GM is responsible for the paint deteriorating on a 5 year old carin excellent condition.
Clear coat on vehicles top is peeling. My Chevy has been taken care of very well. I believe that, this vehicle was built in Canada and that factory cut corners on appling the correct amount of clear coating to the primary color.
The contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox. When the contact attempted to open the driver's door, he heard a loud noise and the rear window exploded and glass shattered. Pine belt Chevrolet (1088 NJ-88, lakewood township, NJ 08701, (732) 523-0826) was notified. The dealer stated that because the failure had not happened in a couple of years, there was no way that the contact would be able to prove that this was a failure. The dealer stated that a rock may have caused the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 22,000. Vehicle was repaired.
My son was in an accident Oct 26, 2018 @ approximately 7:30 pm.. he was turning left on highway rt. 50 in mt. Storm, wv with signal light on to pull into a parking lot. A truck driving at a high rate of speed from behind attempted to pass him on the left even though my son was already turning left. The truck hit directly on his front left tire by a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed. The frame was damaged and we are unsure of additional damages until the insurance adjuster inspects it. The side airbag did not deploy resulting in my son hitting the side window and diagnosed with cervical sprain. Driver was drinking and admitted to driving 65-70 mph. Police report was filed and firefighters arrived.
