2015 Chevrolet Equinox. Consumer writes in regard to defective windshield wipers. The consumer received recall notice N212352530 after having the windshield wiper motor replaced. The manufacturer informed the consumer the reimbursement would be sent once the parts were made available. The consumer stated the vehicle was already repaired; therefore, should not have to wait for the reimbursement.
The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that the windshield wipers failed to function during inclement weather. The dealer (open road Chevrolet, 2675 us-22, union, NJ 07083, (908) 686-2800) diagnosed that the wiper transmission failed to function. The dealer replaced the part. The manufacturer was notified and suggested that the dealer diagnose and repair the vehicle. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 41,000. Consumer stated this wiper transmission is under recall in Canada, where my vehicle was manufactured. Updated 10/17/18
The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox. While driving 60 mph in the rain, the windshield wipers failed. The contact was able to coast the vehicle onto the shoulder and waited for the rain to stop. The vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer where it was diagnosed that the windshield wiper transmission failed and needed replacement. The manufacturer stated that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 16V582000 (visibility). The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 100,000.
