When I bought the car a year ago after about 4 months in I started to notice a noise every time I turned left. It was a small noise so I didn't think much of it. I checked to see if there were any recalls and there are none. Now it is more noticable but the car is driving fine unless I make a left turn it's like a slight clicking noise. Has there been any other complaints about this happening because the car should not be doing this. I have only had it a year. Other than this issue the car runs great.
The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox. While driving 25 mph, all the sensors on the instrument panel illuminated and the vehicle stalled without warning. In addition, the "service all wheel drive" warning indicator illuminated. The contact could not restart the vehicle and it was towed to mike savoi Chevrolet in troy, Michigan. The dealer diagnosed that the body control module and power steering connect module needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 38,929.

The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox. While driving between 60-65 mph, the steering seized without warning. The failure was intermittent. The contact stated that turning the vehicle off and back on would remedy the issue. The vehicle was taken to rossi Chevrolet Buick GMC (360 route 31 South, Washington, NJ 07882, (908) 320-4464) where it was diagnosed that the generator and power steering inlet hose needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 40,320.
The contact rented a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox. While driving approximately 50 mph, the vehicle violently shook and veered to the left and right. As a result, the contact lost control and collided with a guardrail. The air bags did not deploy. There were no injuries and a police report was filed. The police officer stated that the front passenger rim was shattered. The vehicle was towed to a salvage yard. The contact did not state if the vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was not notified. The VIN was invalid. The failure mileage was approximately 13,000. The consumer stated the vehicle was inspected by the rental company and it was found that the consumer was at fault.
The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox. While attempting to accelerate from a stop sign, the vehicle began to shutter while turning the steering wheel. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the power steering pump and rack failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred several times. The contact also stated that when adding fuel, it began to leak out of the fuel terminal. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.
The steering on my car turns slightly to the left and to the right all by itself. It's as if it sticks and then turns. It happens at all speeds and causes me to overcorrect. Sometimes it is hard to turn the steering wheel and then it seems to break loose and turns too much.it does this while driving on the highway and on city streets. It does this going straight or turning. It happens during driving without braking and also while braking.
Although my Equinox is just a year old I'm having problems with the stabili-trak and power steering. The service light for both of these keeps coming on and both keep going out while I drive which is extremely dangerous. Also my electronic panel keeps going out. I know these must be a manufactory defect but I'm getting no where with them. Please help!
On May 18, 2016, I was going approx. 10 miles/hour on dry pavement, attempting to make a rh turn when the steering wheel locked up. I was unable to control the vehicle for approx. 5 seconds. Since I had begun the turn but was unable to finish the turn, the vehicle went into the oncoming traffic lane. If there had been a car in the oncoming lane, I would have hit it. After approx. 5 seconds, the steering wheel unlocked and I was able to complete the turn and get the vehicle back into the proper lane. Took vehicle into dealer; dealer informed me of a manufacturer safety bulletin for loss of power steering. Dealer re-programmed power steering, test drove and informed me that it had been repaired. When I picked up vehicle from dealer, I was backing out of parking space, lost complete power steering; unable to get vehicle back into parking spot. Currently vehicle is at dealer. This vehicle has approx. 8K miles. This is the 2nd major safety concern. The first occurred approx. 1 month ago. Vehicle was making loud knocking noise. Dealer informed me the fly wheel was damaged. GM told dealer to replace the torque converter. I feel unsafe driving this vehicle.
On two (2) separate occasions my vehicle has stopped dead in the roadway while driving. I lost all power steering, lights, radio etc. I was able to restart the vehicle both times. This could be deadly if I am on a busy road or freeway. I am terrified for my safety, but also for my two year old grandson, family, friends and anyone else who could be involved in an accident if this happens again. My vehicle was leased January 19, 2015. I am way under on my miles (2600) and has been well maintained by me with zero damage anywhere. My vehicle was in the dealership from June 29, 2015 the first time the engine stopped while driving. They kept the vehicle fro 3 days. At that time I was advised by the service department that mine was the third vehicle in the last week with the same complaint. I took it back to the dealership on July 6th after the second time it stopped dead in the roadway. I was called on August 12, 2015 that the vehicle was ready for pick up and that they were unable to duplicate the problem. The dealership has been unable to find the problem. The service dept. States they have driven the vehicle for a mere 58 miles over the last several weeks. The service manager suggests I buy out my lease and just sell it to someone else. Of course this is not an option for me.
