The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that the entire instrument panel and electrical system malfunctioned. The backup camera, speedometer, odometer, fuel gauge, and cruise control failed to work. The failures were especially problematic during nighttime driving. The contact took the vehicle to two dealers. On of the dealers, graff Chevrolet okemos (1748 w grand river ave, okemos, mi 48864), stated that the parts needed for the repair were backordered and were not currently being manufacturer. The manufacturer was contacted, repeated what the dealer stated, and provided a case number. The manufacturer stated that they would speak with the dealer and informed the contact to call back in a week. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 56,826.
It seems that the battery disconnects at random times. There have been several times that I go to start the vehicle and the SUV is completely dead. I already changed the battery and took it to a local shop but it still happens. I figured out that if I pop the hood and wiggle the battery and cables it'll start and go back to normal. When this happens the SUV won't have any lights or even lock doors. And when it does come back it'll go to factory time and date. Just recently it happened as I was coming to a stop at a gas station. I'm not sure if I was stopped or doing like 1 or 2 mph. But it was dead even before I put it into park. The date this happened is an estimate. Not exact.
The ignition key was able to be removed from the ignition while the vehicle was not in the park position (vehicle was in drive position). In which caused a rollaway incident with the vehicle. The vehicle was stationary and belived to be in park.
The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox. When the contact attempted to start the vehicle with the key in the ignition, it seized. Another motorist helped jumpstart the vehicle and it resumed normal operation. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who ordered a new battery; however, the vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was towed by aaa to autonation Chevrolet North richland hills (7769 boulevard 26, North richland hills, tx 76180, (817) 264-7753) where it was diagnosed that the battery needed to be replaced. The failure recurred multiple times and the battery had to be replaced four times within four years. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 25,000.

Within the past year I have lost all sound in my 2015 Chevrolet Equinox three times. The first time was in June 2017, the second time was October 2018. The first two times I was able to get an update through our local dealer. However, I was told that if happened again, I would need to replace the radio (and related components). This not only affects the radio, but all sound, blinkers, lane departure and crash alert. Proof of service can be provided if required.
Wipers stopped working while driving in the rain on the evening of the 26th of October 2018. Fuses have been checked and though good replaced. There is a hum when you turn the wipers on. This only applies to the front wipers, the rear works fine. Dangerous as it was almost dark and I had to drive home slowly and out the car in the garage. Seems this is a recurrent problem with the Equinox as I found out in research. When is something going to be done about this" before or after a fatality"

While in motion engine sputters as if running out of gas, A/C shuts down, then engine quits working and car completely shuts off. Battery is working fine; lights, radio, etc. Work. Cannot turn engine over, cannot give gas to engine.

My vehicle has an intermittent issue of a slow to no crank when the vehicle is being started. Onstar has issued two communications as follows: Your 2015 Chevrolet Equinox detects a battery high resistance or battery connection issue. Your 2015 Chevrolet Equinox detects a battery shorted cell. The odometer currently reads 39,000 which is 3,000 miles beyond the 36,000 warranty coverage even though the vehicle is only 1-1/2 years old. Online research has indicated that GM is aware of multiple battery issues with the 2015 Equinox as well as other model years, but has yet to identify the source of the issues.
Takata recall...my vehicle has an intermittent issue of a slow to no crank when the vehicle is being started. Onstar sent the following message: Your 2015 Chevrolet Equinox detects a battery shorted cell. The battery is needed to start the vehicle. To avoid a situation where you can't start your vehicle, please schedule service with your preferred service provider as soon as possible, so they can replace your battery. You can still drive your Chevrolet but it may become harder to start. And if the battery does fail, you will not be able to start the vehicle. My odometer reads 39,000 thus voiding any warranty coverage of up to 36,000. The vehicle is only 1-1/2 years old, purchased new. Online research has indicated that this has been an ongoing issue with the Chevrolet Equinox for the 2015 models as well as many other model years. GM has been unable to identify the root cause of their battery issues. It appears that something is causing a draw on the system and GM has not been able to identify the issue.
Although my Equinox is just a year old I'm having problems with the stabili-trak and power steering. The service light for both of these keeps coming on and both keep going out while I drive which is extremely dangerous. Also my electronic panel keeps going out. I know these must be a manufactory defect but I'm getting no where with them. Please help!
"takata recall. I was on my phone using the bluetooth. Then I received another call and took call. My other party hung up the line and once I was done with the call I hung up but on the display it showed as if I was still on my phone. Cut my car off still nothing happened. I went so far as resting my radio and phone features.... still nothing. So when I home the light and display stayed on and when woke up the next morning battery dead....mind you this is a 2015 not even 3 or 4 months since I bought it. Took the car in after I had to get a jump start. The dealership kept my car for a few days to tell me nothing is wrong. But as I did some research I see other Chevy Equinox owner's are having the same issues. What is going to be done??
False alarms have occurred 5 times from the forward crash alert system. The display flashes and sound several high-pitched beeps. Drove to another destination approximately 15 miles away, parked the vehicle, turned off the ignition, got out and returned 5 minutes later then started the vehicle and drove away then noticed the electronic speedometer was no longer working.
