It started raining as we left a parked location so the wipers were turned on. Within a moment the wipers stopped in the up position. The wiper motor could still be heard running and the wipers were free to move by hand to any postion.
The wipers stopped working in the upright position while driving in the middle of a heavy rain storm. I pulled over to move them back down and tried to turn them on and the wipers would not move. We had to pull over until the rain let up.
Front wiper blade bushing easily come apart. It was raining and I was driving when the wipers stopped working. Doing research this seems to be a common issue that has not been taken into account for repair.
I was driving in a heavy rain my wipers stopped in a upright position on heavily traveled back roads with flooding luckily I was able to pull over but waited for more than an hour to drive home although the windshield wipers will not work and I did have to use my hazards and drive 20 minutes to my house in heavy rain very scary
While driving down the highway during a severe thunder storm warning, I turned my wiper blades onto the second highest setting. After about a minute the wiper blades stopped moving. Visibility was already terrible with the sheets of rain, but was now instantly reduced to zero while I was traveling at 60 mph in decently heavy traffic. I was able to put on my hazards and limp my way to the edge of the highway. It appears that the wiper blade linkage has broken

While driving East bound on Ohio turnpike I-80/90 on 06/23/2020 during heavy rain, the wipers motor or wiper transmission failed with the wipers in a vertical position. With drastically reduced visibility and while driving in a construction zone it was a dangerous situation I was placed in by the failure. At the dealer I was notified that there is a special coverage from the manufacturer for this issue. This is indicative that a larger problem exists and public safety is at risk by not checking and repairing all vehicles with this part/ assembly. The repair was completed at joe firment Chevrolet in avon, oh. 866-675-5937. I do not have any paperwork as I had to leave quickly and could not wait for the service advisor who was on a break.
When I was driving down the interstate it started to pour down rain, I turned my wipers on full speed and the wiper stopped in the middle of the window and would not activate. Vehicle was in motion on an interstate almost causing me to wreck due to not being able to see other traffic. Will be bringing the car to the dealership for service.
I was driving home and I was on a major freeway. It was pouring down raining and I hit the windshield wiper gear to speed it up because I could not see. Luckily I did not get hurt on the freeway. It just speed up and stopped all of a sudden on the left. Immediately had to slow down and hit my hazard light. I eventually stopped in the middle of the freeway to fold the wipers down just to see if they only got stuck. No luck.....they stopped working. Oh and im also in the line closest to the exit. There was moderate traffic and car was in motion.
Windshield wipers stopped working as I was driving down the highway at 55mph in a heavy downpour. Had to pull over and wait until the rain stopped. The wipers were stuck in the up position and were easily pushed back down in order to see while driving home.
Yesterday, while driving home on a road during a downpour, my windshield wipers, which were turned on abruptly stopped. I'm not sure what's wrong with them, but I'm hoping to figure out soon. The wipers sound like they're starting, but don't move. I've been informed that there's currently an investigation into 2013-2016 Chevy wiper issues, so I wanted to make sure that you were informed about mine as well. 2015 Chevy Equinox. I can supplement if need be when I get more information on what happened.
Bushing failed in front wiper mechanism. Wiper stopped mid-cycle when switched down from highest setting. In heavy rain. Mechanic could not get replacement bushing to fit - entire mechanism must be replaced (motor can be salvaged). Mechanic's attempt to get bushing to fit seemed to finally work, but failed on first test in same way as before. Big hassle for small part.
I was driving with my wife and child and suddenly it started to rain. It was a down pour so I turned on the wipers and then after a few secs the wipers stopped working. I had to pull over and stop driving until the rain cleared. Luckily I didn't get into an accident but not to say someone else hasn't due to this issue.
During heavy, heavy rain on a busy highway at 65mph, the wipers stopped working right in front of the driver. I almost got hit trying to get off the highway because I had no visibility.
Same problem as the 2013 Equinox. Bushing has corroded and broken on the wiper transmission linkage assembly. Neither wiper blades operate. Same problem as the 2013 Chevrolet Equinox visibility recall 16V582000.
Wipers stopped working while driving during a storm. Terrifying. Almost hit another car trying to pull off. Could not see anything. Had to get home; had to drive very slow with emergency lights on after the initial near death experience. We could have died that day. Does actual death initiate a recall? if so, how many before it's important. I've seen all the previous complaints. Please help.
While driving the windshield wipers suddenly stopped in the up position. This occurred when it was raining. I was unable to continue and had to pull over on the side of the highway. The situation was extremely difficult and dangerous.
While driving on the highway in a rain storm my wipers stoped working. Making it impossible to drive safely. Wipers wouldn't go on no matter if I turned them on high or low.
I was driving home from Chicago to Indiana when on the expressway driving in the rain my wiper just stopped. So I had to pull over on the shoulder lucky I didnt get into an accident because it was raining hard.
