This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.

Driving home from work and started to rain. Turned on wipers and they worked for a few seconds and then heard a pop and they got stuck in the upright position. Pulled over in the rain. Opened up the cover and see that the linkage for the wipers is corroded and broken. This car is 3 years old. Went to look up the part when I got home and see there is a recall in Canada! why just Canada" safety in the usa doesn't matter? come on Chevrolet, really"
The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox. While driving approximately 70 mph in the rain, the windshield wipers stopped working. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact drove to a gas station and waited for the rain to stop before driving home. The vehicle was taken to denooyer Chevrolet (58000 stadium dr, kalamazoo, mi) where the vehicle was diagnosed and repaired. The specifics of the diagnosis and repair were not disclosed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 55,550.
Windshield wipers quit working during rainstorm while driving 70 mph on us 23, rendering driver completely blind for conditions. Repair shop replaced the wiper transmission; discovered this has been recalled in Canada but not us. Contacted GM but they deny knowing of this issue despite a plethora of reports online.
Every winter when the temperatures drop below freezing (often in northern wi) my wiper fluid freezes despite using wiper fluid rated for -25 to -28 degrees. This effects both front and back washer sprayers. The back is not a problem; however, the front freeze up results in decreased visibility from the road salt and dirt when driving causing frequent stops to manually pour washer fluid out of a bottle and then use wipers. Often this works only for a short period of time, depending upon the traffic, before having to repeat the above procedure. Purchasing a brand new vehicle I never would have expected such a problem. It doesn't even help when the vehicle is running to warm up for a half hour or longer.
I was driving in a terrible rain storm and had the wipers on fast speed. The wipers completely stopped. I was on a 3 lane highway and was almost killed. When I waited out the storm I drove home. I went to the internet and found that almost 400,000 vehicles were recalled for faulty wind shield motor transmissions. I called Chevrolet customer assistance and they told me that my VIN number was not part of the recall. I explained to them that I had the same failure as all the others that were reported. They told me it didn't matter as my VIN number was not part of the recall. I had to get my wipers fixed at the local Chevrolet dealer. They told me that the repair was the same as they did for the vehicles that were part of the recall. I had them save the parts but they charged me $580.70. After numerous phone calls I received no satisfaction from Chevrolet. This is a serious safety issue and I hope your Agency can help.
The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox. While driving approximately 50 mph in the rain, the windshield wipers stopped working without warning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the transmission was faulty. The dealer was contacted (matthews Chevrolet in bucyrus, oh) and stated that there were no parts available. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall. The vehicle was repaired by an independent mechanic. The failure mileage was approximately 32,000.
Dangerous situation. Passing cars (in motion) on interstate 81S while raining. Wipers stop and visibility hampered. Repair - wiper transmission removed and replaced. This problem has been recorded for many years for this make and model.
My 2015 Equinox has spots all over the rear windshield. I've been to 2 different dealers and have had no success. The spots appear to be fading spots inside the window glass, cannot wipe them off or no amount of cleaning works. When driving in certain light, the spots are very distracting and cause a visual ptoblem. Both dealers more or less said it's my problem. My car only has 10,000 miles and I cannot understand why someone can't help.
The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox. While driving various speeds, the sun shined into the front windshield and reflected off the chrome finish onto the front cup holders and obscured the contact's vision while driving. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 25.
