The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that as his daughter was slowing down to exit a highway, she was rear-ended at a high rate of speed by another vehicle. The impact from the other vehicle caused his daughter to then hit the vehicle in front of her. The air bags did not deploy upon impact. The contact's daughter was taken to the hospital by ambulance; however, due to a long wait, she was left untreated. She was later treated by her primary care doctor who performed X-rays for the soreness in her left shoulder, the middle of her chest, and right hip; she was given medication to treat the soreness in those areas. A police report was filed. The whereabouts of the other drivers were unknown. The contact arrived at the scene and was able to drive the vehicle home; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate above 40 MPH. The contact called an independent body shop and an appointment was made to inspect the vehicle. The dealer nor the manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.
The front passenger airbag light beeps even when there is no passenger. The airbag light is now off and shows there is no operable airbag. My vehicle was checked a month ago with no issues but this appears to be ongoing.
A service airbag indicator light appeared on my 2014 Chevrolet Equinox. The vehicle has under 100k miles and was never involved in an accident. I brought the vehicle into a Chevrolet service center and they advised that the passenger airbag will not deploy in the event of an accident. The Chevrolet service center advised that the repair would cost $1382 for a new passenger airbag module. I contacted GM and their advisor followed up with me. Per our conversation the reason that the airbag needs to be replaced will not be further investigated. They will not cover the cost of replacement. A case number was assigned but advisor declined to provide written documentation of our conversation but agreed to follow-up with written estimate from service center. At this time the passenger airbag module is available for inspection and is with the owner.

Hit a bear in a 2 lane rural roadway between 30-40 mph after braking hard. Airbags fired but none ever came out. Could smell the burning charge. Service airbag lights came on along with interior lights and hazard lights.
In my 2014 Chevrolet Equinox, noontime, Sunday, sitting at red light pointed West, three lane road, waiting to cross 7 lane road, got the green light, proceeded forward up to maybe 10mph and got to about 2nd lane of 7 to cross intersection, then wham, I am hit in the intersection, left side just in front of front wheel, by car that ran red light at full speed going North, basically took front of my car off, spun me 1 3/4 times to now face South, the air bags did not deploy, my body left side head, shoulder and hip hit the left side interior even though my seat beat was on (was dazed and had help getting belt off) and received concussion, neck injury, hearing difficulty, accelerated memory loss issues, damaged shoulder, hip troubles, bouts of unexplained outbursts from little anxiety stimulus, heightened startle response, nightmares, and severe trouble controlling anxiety that were all not present prior to the crash. The car was totaled immediately by the insurance company, and even though witnesses saw that I had the green and that the car that hit me at a 90 degree and estimated to be doing 35-50mph while running the red light, the attorney was unable to block the quick disappear of the vehicle and the police investigators crash site notes and report was very incomplete and wrongly documented the accident. My concern is that I have lingering pains, hip trouble, still low pain left side head, neck tensions, new memory issues, severe anxiety attacks that cause over 220 bp and panic breathing issues, and new struggles with mobility I did not have before the crash, and that with horrific impact that spun me nearly 2 times around, took the front of car, declared total loss -- why did none of air bags go off in this 2014 Chevrolet Equinox this accident crash June 24, 2018 "?" attached 5 pics my vehicle next day +crash sketch +Florida dhsmv crash report me&my car. After shopping and on my way home the chime that sounds when your seatbelt is off started chiming. As I looked at the dash there was a message that stated to service the airbag. I was surprised because in all the years I have been driving I have never received anything like this with the airbag. I drove the vehicle the next day and the message goes on and off constantly along with the chime noise. It's extremely irritating. Should this be a recall issue?
Air bag light comes on. Sometimes it doesn't come on and sometimes it does. It's been doing this for close to 2 years. Passenger seat belt has been sticking often. Sometimes I can barley get it to unclick. This has been happening for about 3 years.
Vehicle was in motion traveling straight going approximately 50mph when it struck another vehicle that failed to yield the right of way. The Equinox suffered extensive front end damage on the drivers side but no airbags deployed.
2014 Chevrolet Equinox. Consumer writes in regards to airbag non-deployment and seat belt shoulder harness failure during front end collision. GM informed the consumer the air bag performed as designed. Updated 11/15/2017
