I'm purchasing a 2016 Equinox and I'm sure that none of these design problems have been fixed. I will still have to live with them. The gas fill spout is on the wrong side. The key fob is so bulky that I can't carry a spare key in my wallet. There are no side bumper strips. The gas gage is backwards. The temperature control knob is backwards with up being cold and marked blue rather than hot and marked red. There is no glove compartment light. The doors don't pop open when you pull the latch. You have to push them open. The luggage rack on the roof should be an option. There is no reason for the chrome trim under the hatch door. There should be chrome trim around the real compartment windows to match the trim around the front and rear door windows.
Even with all of these design problems there are a lot of good things about this vehicle. The engine is large enough. It's easy for me to get in and out of. The vehicle runs smooth and quiet. It fits my needs very well even with all of the design problems so that's why I'm buying a 2016 model.
