The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated while driving at 50 MPH and attempting to accelerate, the vehicle failed to respond as needed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who replaced the resonator. The contact stated that the failure persisted and the vehicle started chugging while driving. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic and the contact was informed that the catalytic converter needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that the vehicle warranty was expired. The failure mileage was 159,000.
