Engine dumped oil in driveway. Weather had been excessively cold, 0 degrees for over 2 weeks. Repair shop informed me there is a dealer service bulletin on this issue but GM had so far refused to recall or pay for repairs caused by there faulty PCV system in the 2.4 liter Equinox.
Recently had to have the exhaust manifold replaced and was told that this is another common failure point this engine.
My Vehicle is leaking oil, oil all over the top of the engine and large oil spots below... I have been unable to drive my car for fear we will blow the rear main oil seal. The issue is thought to be the pcv valve. I looked up my complaint that I was having on the internet and came across similar complaints from numerous (a heck of a lot) of people and found GM bulletin number 14882 that specifies the same complaint that I had. I brought this up to the manufacturing company and they explain to me that this bulletin is VIN specific and it would not be covered.
I cannot understand why not when it's the same engine, year... etc. All the other people (who I have read complaints online about it) who have the same issue are being told the same thing... VIN not covered. If all these vehicles are having the same issue, why are they saying not covered? I guess I will have to do what the others did and file a complaint with the BBB. I can not upload a photo, my vehicle still sits at the GM repair shop.
