This car was purchased specifically because it is towable 4 wheels down. We arrive home with the car towed behind the motorhome and found that the power steering would not work. We had followed all of the directions in the owner's manual for towing the car including setting the key to accessory and pulling a 5 amp fuse so the batter would not run down. We towed the car approximately for 2 days, about 4 hours a day. We did not detach the car or attempt to drive it at the end of the first day.
We had to have the car towed to the dealer. They kept it for 5 days and blamed the extended warranty people for the delay. They said the whole repair was about $2,000 and very complicated to do. They replaced the electric steering gear and a fuse (I think it is the 80-something amp fuse). Picked up the car, drove it 10 miles home. Did not drive it for several days and then took it out to a restaurant 6 miles away. On the way home, driving down the road approximately 30 mph, the steering complete stopped working. Fortunately, my husband was driving and he was able to man-handle the car home. We had it towed back to the dealer again. Service advisor is "mystified". My husband is very strong, ex-college football player, works out all the time. This event scared him. We are afraid of this car now.
