Takata recall my SUV keep turning off every time I make a stop on a red light or a stop sign or even when I am in traffic. I don't know what to do anymore I send it to every shop to try to fix some don't know the problem or others don't want to even try to fix it I even send it to cheney dealers and they think it was something else they change that part but still has the same problem I been spending a lot of money on this SUV that I just don't want to bother anymore. Please try to help me out. The bad think too is that I am still paying for this car and I asked the financial worker to help me and they don't care. We keep searching online what to do and I'm reading that these cars are recalls so please try to help me out. Thank you
This SUV has had a new transmission, motor and now it has been just cuts out and no power and on the message center says stability track light we have put a new battery and brought it to two different GM certified car garages and no one knows what to do car is unsafe when it just decides to randomly stall out and has no power until after it sits for about 5 min it may restart or may need a jump start very scary situation it can happen when driving on freeway or in town or even in line a drive thru line in park you never know this has happened about 6-8 times and there is no warning of when it will happen nor any kind of pattern very scary and unsafe
My veh stalled on me mid drive said engine power reduced, it did not let me accelerate and I almost got hit. Simultaneously the stabilitrack message came on and watch for ice, did this happen because of the cold? also few days later it was storming and my wipers stopped in the middle of the window and I was on the fwy in the fast lane. I had to get soaked from rolling M window down to pull over. Roadside came to stop traffic to let me on the right side shoulder because I was lucky I had room to pull over or even see in the first place. I couldnt see anything!
As driving Nov 19, 2018. The car stalled, engine problem, my husband had to push across three lanes of traffics ! almost got run down. For no reason the car just stopped running! we were putting one quart of oil per week"? in between regular oil changes. The car was towed, our mechanic told us engin seized, needed a new engine?? we still owe 3700 on the car and it doesn't run?? I'm so mad that this has been an on going problem with this year and model?" GM owes us a new car!!
As I was driving down a 4 lane highway, I suddenly lost power and the engine started clattering. I limped to the nearest exit, and that is where the car died. I had it towed to the nearest town, and then we put it on a trailer and took it to our mechanic. He said that it had blown a rod in the engine, and that it would need to be replaced for $6000+. there were no warning lights at all. I had been monitoring the oil level because I knew I was getting closer to a needed oil change. Even after this happened, we started it to drive it on and off the trailer, and there was still no oil light!!! all recalls had been done. As we had a 100,000 warranty, it was gone through very closely before that expired.

The contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet Equinox. While driving 75 mph, the reduced engine power warning indicator illuminated and the vehicle independently decelerated to 15 mph. The contact stated that the failure was more prevalent during the colder months. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the throttle body needed to be cleaned. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.
Each year, when outside temperatures are cold, the check engine light comes on and the engine loses power either while driving or idle, and the vehicle runs very rough.
I replaced the timing chain in June at my mechanic...I did not go to a dealer because I could not afford the $2000 they were asking to fix it. It is now the beginning of September and I am replacing the timing chain again. Why am I reading this website and seeing thousands of complaints regarding the Equinox timing chain and nothing has been done by GM. They should receive consequences for a faulty product. I called them to ask why there was not a recall when thousands of people are complaining of the same issue. They were very rude and would not offer any assistance.
2010 Chevy Equinox will lose power at any speed. I have lost power on the interstate at 65mph, local driving at 40mph as well as stopping at a traffic light. It pretty much just happens out of the blue endangering my life as well as the vehicles around me. The check engine light will come on but does not stay on. If I turn the vehicle off, it will restart and may run fine for days or weeks afterward. I have contacted GM, but to date have not had the issue resolved.

In addition, the check engine warning indicator illuminated. New holland auto group (508 w main St, new holland, pa 17557, (877) 217-8936) was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 137,000.
Engine light on with 60000 miles, timing chain code, known issue and GM wanted $4000 to fix. Changed all timing gears and tentioners in December of 2017.
While driving, the car would not accelerate, pulled onto a street and put the car into park. Attempted again and the car slowly drove. Another incident, my son was driving and he said it just "wouldn't drive", luckily he was near a relatives house and pulled into the drive. He attempted to move the car and put it into reverse and it would not go into reverse. The car is now at a Chevy dealer. Now this may not be deemed a "safety issue", but what is the issue, the car only has 65,000 and we are being told by Chevy that the car needs a new transmission. At what point can a non-safety issue be deemed a recall. Apparently there is a bulletin regarding the Chevy Equinox 2010, many many complaints, and Chevy will not repair them. What can be done?

The fire was extinguished by the fire department and a fire report was filed. There were no injuries. The manufacturer and dealer were not contacted. Where to begin...in 2015 I purchased this 2010 Equinox from a Chevy dealer and 2 months later started experiencing problems w/ the stabilitrak. I have thousands of dollars paying for this to be fixed with no solutoins to this day!! it os now a daily occurrence and comes on multiple times while driving every time I am behind the wheel now. In addition, now the engine is completely shutting off while driving it and I must coast to the side if the road!!!! with the hundreds of thousands of complaints your company has received regarding this problem over the last few years, I am guessing your company is waiting for a life to be taken! I have had this happen to me multiple times on the highway passing a car or semi and it kicks in and I have to pray that as I slow down with no control I can make it to the right lane and then on to the shoulder with out getting hit or worse!!! there are even mornings where I go out to start my car and...either it doesn't start at all w/ no sound, it starts with the stabilitrak already on or it clicks on as soon as I put it in reverse. I am keeping all my receipts together and my family knows where they are in case anything should happen to me due to the lack of Chevrolet assistance for thousands of people dealing w/ the same issues!!!! yes I have a warranty but was told that is not covered and I have already had a new transmission put in, throttle body replaced, wires replaced, etc... and still no solution and this is not the first time I have filed a complaint here. I will never recommend a Chevy to anyone and will share my experience with as many people as possible!
Oil burning which leads to a oil change almost 1500 miles with top off service between changes. Then shaking of engine while in idle and while accelerating.
