My 2009 Chevrolet Equinox (6 cyl.) began acting up at approximately 65,000 miles. I took it to the dealership and they said it needed a timing chain. I had an extended warranty purchased at the time I bought the vehicle that covered the cost and rental car when this was done. Now the vehicle has 87,000 miles and they are telling me it needs another timing chain. I was told when the first one was replaced that this was unusual as timing chains normally are replaced at 100,000 miles or more. Now here I am needed a second one at 87,000 miles. I am beginning to wonder if my dealer is being truthful, or taking advantage of me. I have no proof they replaced it the first time.
