Wow ! Definitely not the best vehicle I have ever purchased. Just a few short weeks ago while on my daily commute to the next town as I had just turned off the road and turned right onto the highway. As I was approaching highway speed.... everything lit up! Full dash light up and reduced engine power along with the ABS and Stabilitrak lights... on the highway. How is this safe?
My engine reduced power and I was very nearly clipped by a transport truck driver resulting in my vehicle having to take the ditch. With the engine power reduced it was almost impossible to get out of the ditch as there is pretty much not enough power to reverse in a ditch while the vehicle is in such state. I did get my vehicle out of the ditch and I was little shook up about the whole ordeal but I did limp it 5 miles home. I hooked up the code reader (never had to own a code reader until I bought this little gem) and code is p1682 ... ignition failure. The vehicle had coded out a p1682 about 2 mos prior but once cleared had not shown up again until that morning. The Equinox is still sitting in the driveway. I don't mind fixing wear and tear but too many failed parts on this Equinox as it's not the first major repair I have endured on this vehicle.
