Took it to the dealer for repair and was told to not worry about it, it would cost too much to repair

The 2008 chevrolet equinox is made very cheap at least on the inside. all plastic parts. the glove compartment latch which I rarely open, broke into pieces. All plastic parts Not sure if the plastic becomes brittle with the heat but for the latch not being used hardly at all, it should not have broken. Previously both my visor mirror covers broke. All plastic.
