Our 2007 equinox transmission has been making a clunking noise when driving about 20mph and shifting between 1st and 2nd gear. I have taken it to the dealer multiple times with no solution. On one occasion I had the head mechanic ride with me and he actually agreed there was a problem and I thought my headache had been solved. When I went to pick up the vehicle it should have had the transmission problem fixed and the headlight replaced but to my surprise nothing was fixed, not even the headlight. The Chevy rep handed me a service bulletin stating that the clunking noise was normal on Chevy vehicles and that GM recommended it not even be attempted to be repaired and they just forgot about the headlight. This vehicle has been nothing but a headache. We have had it in the shop at least 5 times for everything you could think of. Here is a short list of repairs. 1. Electronic Steering completely Replaced 2. Both headlights going out within a year 3. Sunroof leak 4. Airbag sensor bad due to poor ground wire 5. Keyless entry stopped working (recall) 6. Normal Clunking Transmission (has been duplicated for dealer but thats still not good enough) 7. Shifter Nob rattles but that is also normal
Maybe I got a Lemon or maybe I am just another unsatisfied GM customer. I will NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, buy another GM vehicle. The first chance I get I will be selling this vehicle to to some poor sucka.
