We bought this 07 Equinox in 2009 March, as a Certified used car from a reputably dealer with 34,000 mile on it to which by todays standards as the Auto manufactures claim AINT nothing for its Durability, and it performed nicely up until feb 2010 then we started having the check engine light coming on along with Service Stabilitrak, Service Traction Control & Engine Power reduced. Of course the warranty had run out by then. I took it to Midas at first & there I was informed that a whole slew of faults had come up approx 14 according to the Tech & without charge I was advised to take it to a dealer to which I did, Midas didn't want to touch it. As a matter of fact its been there now FOUR times for the same damn problems & about to go in now for the FIFTH time. Luckily its only cost us $335.00 so far. With me being unemployed at this very moment, I cant afford EXTENSIVE, EXPENSIVE repairs. I don't understand why GM puts this junk on the road Jeopardizing peoples lives other than to fulfill their own pockets with your wealth if you want to call it that. Cars NEVER used to have these gimmicks or JUNK then and, unlike today as opposed to then it was common since behind the wheel, there were Auto accidents then, now and will be in the future thats a GOD given as long as Automobiles exist. I cant for the likes of me think of how these GENIUS engineers think that they have made things better or SAFER for the public. Heres one for Ya. Try driving along a high speed Interstate, your about to merge out into 65-70 Mile Per Hour traffic when all of a sudden these Bells, Whistles & Warnings come on and you loose your engine power. How do you win a law suit over killing somebody that your Automobile just caused NOT Driver Erra. Its tough to have something nice for you to show off and for your enjoyment but your afraid to use it Hell, I dont even trust the damn thing if I were to want to even go across town let alone out of town, ITS JUST NOT DEPENDABLE to get me or my family there safely & back home & here Ive always been a Chevrolet patriot. Well, since owning this death trap I think enough is enough & I would rater drive an old beat up 64 Buick at least I could work on it and more than likely fix it not to mention how it was dependable. Open the hood on todays Automobiles and you just stand there in awe. All the car Manufactures have done is gone from Garages to Tech shops and the prices for these SO CALLED innovative SAFETY features has sky rocketed the prices OUT OF THIS WORLD. Yea, buy our product for 23-27,000 and then you can spend another fortune on FIXING IT while your left standing there with your Tech scratching your head's. Come on Chevy, your starting to think like Government Personnel. The last time (which was just last week) that we had the car in the shop we were told that it was just a loose wireing Harness, PROBLEM FIXED until a week later when the same damn fore-mentioned faults came back. Im not here to be Chevrolet GUINEA PIG !!!! to the point that it puts my family's lives on the line. I'm seriously thinking of switching to Dodge w/o Stability Control. The HEARTBEAT of America my Uh Huh. I think I like RAM Tough better. PISSED OFF & VERY DISAPPOINTED
Update from Jun 30, 2010: We finaly got this problem resolved after the Dealer contacted their Tecnical department. They were advised to replace the Fuel Body Actuator. I dont know the cost of this part but Im sure it would of been expensive. The Dealer as a favor from the numerous times we had it in for service with the same problem wrote it off under warranty to keep our business
