CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2006 Equinox is plagued by a heating problem, as in the heater only blows cold air.
The reported cause of this problem is a small door, known as the air temperature blend door, which allows air to flow past the heater core. This door has a plastic connecting shaft to an electric motor and the shaft is prone to breaking after a few years. The problem has a typical repair cost of over $800.
The 2006 Equinox also has a number of reported problems ranging from the key getting stuck in the ignition, to failing speed sensors, and trouble starting the engine. All in all, this car sounds like one worth avoiding.

I feel that it is ashamed that we spend so much money on these cars and the manufacture builds cars with useless and cheap parts and we as the customers suffer out of pocket expenses to have them repaired.. as I have come more aware about the Chevy cars most consumers I have come across and have spoken with mosy of the Chevy cars have theses problems with the intake oil leak and the heater blowing out cold air as well as very poor gas mileage if this problem is continuing with the leaks why not recall these automobiles and fix the problem myself I live from paycheck to paycheck as well as most people we cant afford to have this problem fixed.. if anyone out there is looking to buy a Chevy please dont because you will run into this problem and now I don't know what to do because if my car breaks down how will I get to work.. I am now trying to find a solution on how I will resolve this problem its really depressing and stressfull hoping and praying my engine does not blow out until there is a solution or fix to this problem
