We have owned this 2005 Equinox since it was 2 years old. It has had an intermittent issus with the start remaining engaged after the key was turned from the start to run position. This issue has occurred for many years now and almost as long as we have owned the car. The car has been in the shop many times for this and I have been told by the Chevrolet dealer mechanics that they cannot recreate the issue. We get around it now by just giving the car some gas when starting it but I still curious if the start is being affected

I am curious if this issue is tied to the GM ignition switch recall as I believe the issue is either in the switch or the starter itself.

I've had the same problem with the ignition dragging, my vehicle was still under warranty (under 30,000 miles). every time I took it to the dealer for regular maintenance they told me that they could not find anything. After my warranty expired I would still take it to the dealer for its regular oil changes and maintenance and all of a sudden they found that something was wrong with the ignition. How convenient for them not for me! I never took it in after that I wasn't going to pay out of pocket for something that was not my responsibility. I still have the car, but after these many years it's still annoying when starting it. it will drag not all the time but every now and then. =(

Car sticks when started, We have learned to lightly give it gas and it will come out of it. We brought this car back to Goodwins in Norway Maine a few weeks after purchase they were unable to fix this problem or hear it. THey thought it was the key fit and molded the key a bit this was not a fix! Very much a pain and produces anxiety when your unsure it will start when out of town. Remeber give it a little gas it might just help becasue the dealer can't!!!! This should be a recall God only knows what could happend whe the car doesn't start!!!!
