Brought the part to put on my car for $165 only to find out that the labor is outrageous. You have got to be joking. How come this is not a recall. I cannot afford this. I need some help.
Had the center bearings replaced 3 yrs ago, now at 120000miles broken AGAIN along with the bearings at the rear of the drive shaft. Now told a u-joint in the back is also broke. I NEVER beat on my car and am very careful where and how I drive it.
3yrs ago Chevy told me there were no complaints about this and yet I have heard tons of them and now they are having a difficult time keeping the parts in stock for the repair. This is ridiculous. It has to be a defect or flaw in design. I have never heard of this happening to another vehicle unless they were in a bad accident or used for mudding in the woods.
What is Chevy's problem. They build nice cars, but the parts are always interrelated, thus expensive to replace and hard to get to. Why is the bearing placed so that the entire driveshaft must be replaced? They do not know how to build cost efficient vehicles that the average Joe can afford, so they should probably go out of business. See my separate complaint about my prior 2004 Malibu.
