Stopped at a red light. The drivers seat failed to stay upright with a 40 mph collision from behind. The stationary vehicle, the one with the seat that failed, is a 2005 Chevy Equinox. The vehicle that rear-ended the Equinox was a 1999 Ford Explorer.
During a recent crash that I was in, when my air bag deployed I was pushed back into the seat. The seat came unlatched and plunged into the back seat where I had my daughter in her car seat. It was my understanding by both the insurance company and the dealer that this is to never happen.
