It is a intermittent problem with my car. I bought the car used on 12/28/2018, and 3 times since I had the car the brakes have failed, just with city driving, and rear ended vehicles in front of me, First time 3/17/2019, the second time 4/28/2022, and the third time 9/21/2022. It clearly shows when you check on line that GM had a recall for 2018 to 2019 Chevy Cruze that have to do with malfunctioning brakes. The rear brake calipers or caliper pistons don’t have enough coating on them, and it causes air pockets in the brake lines. They state to solve this problem, the rear brake have to be bled.
Being that I used to work on cars, just bleeding them will not solve the problem, they have to be changed, I have contacted GM customer service to see if my car was in on the recall. On 10/2/2022, I talked to a girl, I told her that I have a 2018 Chevy Cruze Premier, and told her what happened with my car. I told her that I bought the car used, I would like to know if my car was involved in the recall, and if it was dealt with. She asked me for the vin number on the car, she checks it, then she tells me The Premier model is not in on the recall, it was only certain models of the Cruze, from a couple of their GM plants. She told me that the plant that manufactured my car was not in on the recall. I ask her what GM plant my car come out of, then she gets snooty with me and tells me, we can’t tell you that, it is against their policies.
