The AC system stopped blowing cold air. The AC compressor is clearly not engaging though the system is on and blowing full blast. I checked all fuses associated with the AC system in anyway, both under the hood and in the center console fuse boxes. I pulled the K02 relay and replaced with a new one and it continued to be a problem. I returned the relay and exchanged it for another 5 pin relay, which did not work either. I manually connected the 85 and 86 pins using a jumper wire, and the compressor clicked on, so the problem is not with the compressor clutch at least.
There has to be a sensor issue which is preventing the system the system from turning on. Mind you, this is Texas where the temps are moderately cool right now, so there should be no issue with the engine or ambient air temp sensors reading hot. I tried to check the ac system pressure and could not get a standard recharge system quick disconnect to properly seal and lock onto the low side valve. After filing down the nozzle a little, I got it to seat enough to get a reading but it was zero as expected. I tried recharging the system (with the compressor jumped so it was running) but it does not seem to be taking a charge hardly at all. At least the pressure it not coming up anyway.
I am at a loss, I have no clue how to remedy this problem, and I have no money to fix it at the dealership. I am so disappointed with Chevrolet over this, because this is the second vehicle I have owned in very recent years that have had complete AC failures. I wind up having to pay for it and Chevy just keeps selling units without remorse.
