My Chevy Cruze is only 3 years old and I am having issues with leaking coolant. On Saturday my husband was driving my car when it said "shutting down A/C" even though my A/C was not on. When he got home we checked the coolant level and it was severely low. We put more in it and tested it out over the weekend to ensure it is safe for me to drive since I drive an hour to work. Everything looked good over the weekend. Never seen anything leaking or a puddle on the ground. Here it is Wednesday and every morning we have had to fill it up to ensure it doesn't overheat.
Well, this morning on my way to work the car started smoking I am assuming it is from it leaking somewhere. I made an appointment at a shop to have it looked at today as my car is no longer under warranty besides the powertrain warranty. The dealer wants 75.00 just to look at it. The more I look into the issue I find that the Cruze was recalled up to 2014 for the same issue; however, everyone with 2015 and newer is having the same issue and it isn't covered under the recall. I think a recall needs to be issued on these cars. This can be very dangerous and could cause you to lose your engine if you are not aware of it. I am stuck in a car owing 15,000 that I don't even want anymore because it isn't safe and reliable anymore.
