This car is the biggest joke on the market! We have had nothing but issues with this piece of crap. We bought this car so we had a dependable car for me to visit my family that lives 600 miles away and it is less dependable than my car that is 24 years old.
Just about a year ago it was at the dealership having warranty items replaced, neg battery cable because it kept just randomly dying on me, camshaft cover and seals and something else. 2 months later we were back again having to have the negative cable changed yet again. Fast forward no more issues for a while. I started feeling like my shifting problems were happening again as that is what was happening the first time but I blew it off cuz i really did not want to believe it was happening again. That was until it completely stopped shifting again and it was very evident something was wrong, then the engine light came back on.
The car... has 61000 miles on it... power train warranty ended 1000 miles ago. I took it in to the dealership again and Turbo Charger is under-boosting, more leaks in my camshaft seals and oil pump is leaking. i was told the water pump which is leaking as well is covered by warranty somehow. I was also told that it would be ok to drive the car with turbo charger not functioning properly. My dad who was a mechanic for big rigs told me absolutely not! He said I could blow up the engine. So here I sit with this piece of crap in my driveway, unable to be driven with nearly 3000 dollars worth of work needing to be done to it. I can not work as I need my vehicle to work.
I ran into a guy at Autozone and was telling him my car needed 3000 dollars worth of work done to it . he had just mentioned he was a mechanic and his first question was was it a Chevy. Yea how did you know? Second question was was it a Cruze or a Sonic? Like seriously? There are so many issues with these cars that a man that had no info except how much money it was going to cost me to fix it knew exactly what car H had? His wife had a 2014 Sonic that has had nothing but issues as well.
I AM SO FREAKING DONE WITH THIS CAR!!!!! As soon as it is fixed it is being sold. Screw this car!
