As with others on here, I now have the intermittent starting/power-up issues. I have had several times that the radio would be changed upon re-entry of the vehicle along with the exterior lights coming on randomly. Now I have the service theft deterrent light that started appearing randomly and causing a no-start condition, but also causes the random power-up and attempted starts. This only happens if the key is left in the ignition.
Supposedly GM is aware of this, but only issued a bulletin.
Bulletin No.: PI1329
Date: October, 2014
PRELIMINARY INFORMATION
Subject: Vehicle Power Modes or Starts by Itself When Key is Put in the Ignition or Left in the
Ignition in the Off Position
Models: 2013-2015 Buick Encore
2012-2015 Chevrolet Cruze
2012-2015 Chevrolet Sonic
2013-2015 Chevrolet Trax
Condition/Concern
Customer may comment that when they put their key in the ignition or when they leave their key in the ignition, the
vehicle will power up that may include cranking and/or crank and start of engine for a brief period of time. Key in
warning chime will also be inoperative. May also manifest as a low or dead battery after sitting for long periods of
time with key left in ignition.
I have had this vehicle since new, and there have been so many issues with it that I would NEVER recommend one to anyone.
I own a 2013 Chevy Cruz that has been nothing but a problem since I bought it in 2016. First the alternator kept going bad. Car would let me sit. I think we finally have that issue straightened out. Now it has started with a weird issue of when I shut the car off with the key left in the off position, the car literally will start back up. It now does it almost every time I shut the car off. I am afraid it's going to start and run for hours someday. Was told my car was running with radio playing and low and behold it was.
Every time I leave my keys in the car it tries to start itself. This is very annoying and I feel dangerous. Someone else said he spent over 600 dollars and they still didn't fix the problem. I feel the dealership should fix it free of charge before something more serious happens.
When parked and turned off with the key in the ignition the car will intermittently try to start itself, turns the lights and radio on. Took to dealer for this and other problems. Six Hundred +dollars later the car still tries to start itself intermittingly. Would like to have this problem fixed but not paying to be the guinea pig..
