On 3-23-22 I took my car to Belle Tire because the right rear tire kept losing air. They informed me that the wheel was cracked and they had it repaired for $155.00. On June 24th my wife drove the car to Ohio and called me saying the dash showed the air pressure in the right rear tire was down to 23 lbs. She got it aired back to 32 PSI and went for a boat ride for a few hours. When she returned and got in the car to leave, the dash showed it was down to 5 PSI. Again, she got help in airing the tire up to around 40 PSI as she had a 2 hour drive home and this was only the 2nd time she had ever driven the car. The first time was the day before, June 23rd.
All the way home, her friend kept texting me with air pressure reports until they made it home safely. The next morning I went to take it to Belle Tire once again and the tire pressure was at 0 PSI. I aired it up, took it to the shop and left it. This was Saturday the 25th. They called before they closed and told me that both rear wheels were cracked. The right rear for the 2nd time and the left rear as well. They had a wheel repair shop come to pick them up today and they said that the right rear was not fixable. They took the LR with them and I started searching for a rear wheel replacement.
The tire shop found one at a Chevy dealer for over $1,300.00. I found one at the dealership where I bought the car and it was going to be $1,091.00. I finally found one at Tire Rack for $505.00 and I should receive it on Wednesday. If I decide to keep the car, I will have no choice but to go purchase 4 forged wheels which is how they should've been to begin with. I have located 4 Forgeline wheels at a discounted price of $2,800.00 plus shipping. If I decide to trade the car I will leave the junk wheels that Chevrolet put on my $80,000.00 car.
