Complaint: Initial complaint was presented 20 July 2017, within the warranty period. Repair was attributed to the drive belt but did not alter the vibration and hesitation upon acceleration. I consulted a different mechanic in May 2020 who diagnosed the problem as a possible torque converter and recommended I take the car to a dealer. AutoNation’s service technician findings disclosed internal transmission failure and the presence of metallic and non-metallic fragments in the transmission case, which are indicative of a defective transmission. The transmission failure occurred with only 34,657 miles, which is extremely uncommon and reinforces the cause due to a defective transmission. Moreover, this could have been repaired by AutoNation in 2017 when the complaint was initially filed within the warranty period, but was misdiagnosed. Sr. Advisor, Kevin, has been stalling and unhelpful. Unwillingness of Chevrolet customer service personnel to disclose full names and contact information is discourteous, unprofessional and indicates a lack of transparency and personal customer service.
