I purchased this vehicle specifically for track use once it was broken in. During my first track event the temperature pinned during the first hot lap and I experienced a power loss due to the computer placing the vehicle in limp-in mode to attempt to salvage the engine. After cooling the engine down I went out a second time and I retired from the event after 3 laps. Extremely disturbing being that this vehicle was allegedly built for track use. Obviously not!
I drove it directly to the dealership and I am disturbed by their response that it will be difficult to duplicate track conditions in the shop. I explained that this is a well documented problem and I expect it to be repaired, under warranty, to enable me to return to the track. Extremely disappointing that GM would advertise this vehicle as a "Track ready vehicle" when they were aware of the issues prior to delivering the first ones to the public.
I'm glad that there is a class action lawsuit against them because they were fully aware of the issues and they chose to ignore the problem under the premise that a very small percentage of people actually track the vehicle. To me, this is fraud being that they delivered vehicles knowing that the vehicle would not perform as advertised. I own several GM vehicles and I feel that they can produce a vehicle that performs as advertised, but they just choose not to.
Poor decision and I will not purchase another GM as a result.
