This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Transmission shift cable end disintegrated, causing shift cable end to detach from floor shifter, causing inability to place car in park, increasing vehicle to roll away and crash.
Automatic transmission shift lever cannot be shifted from its "park" position upon starting the engine and trying to drive away. Applying the brake pedal in order to disengage from "park" position of shifter still won't allow lever to be moved from "park". the electrical circuit can't be completed to allow disengagement of shifter. This happens perhaps one out of every six or seven times you wish to drive the car. One must sit and make several attempts over several minutes to free the shifter. Very embarassing if you are in a line of cars at a gas station or fast-food take-out line. Many other Corvette owners have this same issue from years 2005 up to 2013.
