I was driving down the highway at normal posted speeds (65 mph) and my engine all the sudden cut out. It stumbled and died. I had it towed by L&a wrecking company to the shop. Turns out it was the valve springs the failed (apparently very common with Corvettes) and almost caused a huge wreck due to me having no power.
The contact owns a 2002 Chevrolet Corvette. While the contact was driving approximately 60 mph, the "engine" warning light illuminated. The warning indicator remained illuminated until the engine was turned off. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the technician stated that the failure was contributed to the secondary air injection system. The vehicle was repaired for the malfunction. The failure mileage was approximately 52,000.
While driving at 50 mph all the dashboard warning lights started flashing and then the vehicle died. The dealership cannot duplicate problem, cause unknown.
