The biggest problem is not that the part failed but that it has been on backordered for four months and GM cannot give any date for production or delivery of the part.It seems true that since GM declared bankruptcy they are not able to produce and deliver spare parts. I have heard it is because they do not have the cash flow to pay their suppliers. New auto purchasers should be aware of this problem. After you purchase the vehicle you will have a dificult time getting spare parts if they are needed. BEWARE and BE Warned of this systemic problem with GM.The same problem does not exist with Ford.
