The contact owns a 2001 Chevrolet Corvette with 35,000 miles. The previous owner had recall 04V060000 steering:column locking:anti-theft device performed on his vehicle. The problem has now recurred. The dealer was contacted about the failure and told the contact to bring the vehicle in. The dealer told the contact that he would have to pay for the failure. The contact is unable to drive the vehicle. When starting or driving the vehicle a message would display" service active handling". when this happened the brakes would automatically engage. The failure was identical to recall 10V172000 steering: Column. The vehicle was also taken to the dealer for water leaking into the trunk. The contact found recall 09V491000 structure:body:roof and pillars caused the failure to occur. The contact also has pictures of the failure. The dealer would not repair the vehicle.
The contact owns a 2001 Chevrolet Corvette. While driving 15 mph, the hard top flew off the vehicle. The top slid down a hill and the safety bar cracked. The contact has been unable to locate a new or used top anywhere. The purchase date and powertrain were unknown. The current and failure mileages were 23,755. Updated 02-01-08 updated 02/01/08
