Your year of vehicle only goes to 1980. This vet 1979, 350 small block. 2nd time the car just stopped. I mentioned what was replaced, I'm not a mechanic, replaced all the parts mentioned with new: had to run a wire to the battery, had to get an alternator that gave more amps. The car was fine, then we had that hot weather when it was really hot, then the car was hard to start. When it did as soon as you started going it would die. That's when mechanic replaced parts mentioned.
This is my 2nd 79 vet., the engine as you know was a new one, the miles on the engine is 3300, it is very frustrating. I know you don't know what the owner before me did, the car was well taken care of. I got the car on good Friday, spent a lot of money on flat beds. At this point, I don't even want to spend any more money. I replaced other stuff, brake calipers, etc.for safety. To me this is a basic engine, I think it could be electrical.
