This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Washed car and engine compartment on Saturday Dec 5, 1999; drove car home and it remained parked until evening of Dec 6, 1999. Statred the car, drove down the street, turned on the heater (knob was on defrost) and the front windshield was immediately covered with steam. Caused immediate driver impairment and collision resulted. I would like to know how this happened. Please reply as soon as possible.(D.evertsen 970-568-3381)
