This truck has roughly 41000 miles on it. As I was driving home from work on [XXX], I heard a faint noise and then my truck just lost power and died on the freeway. There were no engine warning lights on and did not want to restart and stay running. After a few times of starting and dying the message on the dash said keep driving engine is in regen. This is a diesel truck and the newer ones have a regeneration that is done with DEF. I was unable to get it off onto the exit, but did get it off the roadway. The vehicle was towed into the shop on February 3rd, 2024. The shop had to order parts and said that it was just a faulty part. I received the truck back on March 14th. I drove it home from the shop and to work for two days putting roughly 100 miles on the truck. On my way home on [XXX], the truck died again with no warning at all. Same symptoms, just no power and no warning. The truck was towed back to the shop where it still sits today. The problem is there is an issue with this thing dying without any warning at all. The dealer and Chevrolet techs have been unsuccessful in finding the problem. It has been almost 6 months in the shop with literally no idea of what is wrong. I feel this is a serious safety issue that could leave people or families stranded without any warning or idea of how to repair. I feel this should be investigated and brought to someone's attention. I have contacted Chevrolet, but unfortunately they have left everything up to the dealership. The dealer is Auburn Chevrolet in Auburn, WA. The High Pressure Fuel Pump detached from engine and snapped off flange and bolt in the head of engine. The part is available for inspection and was removed by dealership. Vehicle was being driven at highway speed at time of failure. Narrowly avoided an accident as truck lost power and went into limp mode. There was no prior warning leading up to failure.

We purchased a 2019 Chevrolet Colorado December 2022. Beginning in January 2023 to current month July 2023 the vehicle has been at the dealership 4 times for the same occurrence: SERVICE STABILITRAK and ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED A warning -??ding-?? sounds (the same noise as seatbelt, door ajar, etc) simultaneously with the messages -??SERVICE STABILITRAK-?? and -??ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED-?? The vehicle immediately is jerking or lurching, the engine no longer runs smoothly and is misfiring. The engine power reduced does not allow safe acceleration, and the vehicle is unstable (as it moves it feels like driving over a thousand speed bumps over and over), the engine misfiring is heard from the exhaust and the vehicle is visibly vibrating, on acceleration the maximum speed is 20 mph. All 4 times this has happened while driving the vehicle on highways in traffic. We are left unable to get out of the way of moving traffic, unable to accelerate, change lanes or make turns safely. Three of the four times we had the vehicle towed to the dealership. The last time the vehicle did this fortunately I was near our local dealership and drove it less than a mile so the service people could -??witness-?? what I had been trying to explain what-??s been happening with this vehicle. This is a very serious issue! My husband is 75 and very ill. I have to drive him 100+ miles for treatments on a regular basis. We cannot continue to be put in danger because of this vehicle default. We need this problem fixed not only for ourselves but for the safety of others, including unsuspecting drivers and innocent passengers, young, elderly, disabled, some simply misunderstanding our vehicles -??failures to perform-?? in traffic on the roads. A trusted vehicle is very important. A stabile vehicle with sufficient engine power is a must if we are going to put it on the roads. -??SERVICE STABILITRAK-?? and -??ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED-?? is not new. General Motors needs to take action to correct this problem and educate dealers.

Thermostat malfunction. Part was nearly impossible to locate. Was without transportation for 5 days. Replacing a thermostat on a 2019 Chevy Colorado is now a major repair. The total cost was in excess of $1100. The vehicle only has 34,800 miles on it.

Ignition Key Cannot Be Removed and / or Does Not Rotate to the Off Position. This has been going on for about a year and I have taken it to the dealer 3 times and they are unable to fix the issue. I have searched online and there are many Chevy Colorado owners facing this issue. https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/Discussion-t58416_ds944027

As I went around a turn (low speed), the truck lost power steering for about a half of a second. It came back online right away, but caused me to take the turn poorly. At the same time, the engine shut down and all of the lights on the dash went out. I stopped the vehicle, put it in park and restarted the vehicle. Everything then worked as if nothing was wrong. There are not any warning lights. It was as if someone simply turned off the ignition for a minute.

Since shortly after purchasing the vehicle new, I have experienced hard shifting, slipping when accelerating, also experience rough idle at times.I have had the torque converter replaced but I still ha E the problem. I've even had the service manager ride with me and he stated he experienced the lugging sensation, and said it's normal, they still did nothing to help me, and this is noted on their service record! this vehicle has been in the shop several times for the same issue, and I get the same answer as they find nothing wrong.

Oil filter adapter insert GM part number 12696079. Becomes unattached from oil filter housing if not extremely careful during a oil change service. Resulting in total engine failure. Mine was dislodged during a oil change. But I caught the no oil pressure warming immediately. Others across the country have not been a lucky. See GM tech bulletin 19-na-006 or GM tech link.com

2019 Chevy Colorado with 13125 miles driving St rt 45 lisbon Ohio 40 - 45 mph up slight grade, noticed / smelled smoke in console area between seats, tried to do minor acceleration to get over slight grade and the engine died. Pulled into parking lot to stop and no brakes no power steering, tried emergency brake still did not stop. Split decision to either crash into concrete barrier or get back onto highway. Light traffic so muscled truck back on highway and bumped curb to try and slow vehicle. Finally slowed enough to try emergency brake again and it worked to stop truck. Put truck in park and exited vehicle, with flamed shooting out driver side underneath between driver door and passenger door. Running board hot enough to burn my jeans as I exited. Volunteer fire fighter tried to put out fire with fire extinguisher as did highway patrol. Flames still active. Volunteer fire department arrived and after about 15 min had fire put out. No warning chimes, no flashing lights, nothing to indicate a problem. Insurance company had independent investigator look at vehicle, he/she believes is a General Motors issue and has contacted them to also investigate cause.
