The vehicle stuttered upon acceleration between 20mph and 35mph. After the 2018 Chevy Colorado was taken into the Chevy dealership for inspection, the torque converter failed at roughly 76,000 miles. A bad torque converter can potentially cause an accident. It can lead to engine revving issues, sudden speed changes, which can be dangerous while driving. The torque converter failed and left metal shavings in the transmission causing the transmission to need replaced as well. This was diagnosed by the Chevy dealership and has a repair ticket of over thirteen thousand dollars. ( $13,000 ) which most people can't afford to absorb. After a quick Google search, this appears to be a common problem. There should be a recall to fix this issue.

A/c lines near driver side wheel well has chafed through fuel line and wire harness.Causing a couple thousand dollars in damage.Nor warning indicators leading up to either incidents. My chevy dealership mis diagnosed it twice and has now found the issue. Fuel lines leak can cause fires and as far as the electrical issue I've been left stranded with my 3 year old daughter a couple of times..Have looked up forums and many people have had the same issue.

This started about 3 months after I got the truck and has been doing it since. On three separate occasions, truck engine shut off after stopping then turning right on city and neighborhood streets. First time I pulled out on a road where the speed limit is 55 so I was lucky no one was behind me when the engine cut out. On the fourth occasion, truck shut off after backing up from parking spot and pushing on gas to go forward. No check engine lights, no noises or vibrations to tell me truck is going to shut off. I have to look at dash to see if it has gone black. Radio still works, and I'm able to steer off to side off the road because it's still in motion from after the turn. I can put gear in park position, turn key to off, then start the truck like normal. Have gone to mechanic and dealership and they can't get it to duplicate. Chevrolet has been notified but has said they cannot help if dealership can't find the problem. Steering wheel also starting to get stuck in turn position when turning right. Right after the turn it feels like it catches in something and I have to force the wheel back to center. Starting to happen almost daily, but not for dealership. I feel driving the truck is a safety hazard for not only me but others on the road.

Started the truck on a cold morning, cooling fan kicked in on high within seconds of start. Temperature gauge on dash noted to be inoperative at that time. Hoses from radiator became warm as normal, heat delivery to cab also normal. Drove for a few miles without change in fan speed. Engine turned off, fan speed remained high for several minutes. Same pattern occurred intermittently, with normal function otherwise, including normal function of dash temperature gauge. Codes read at repair shop during one episode showed problem with thermostat. Thermostat/housing replaced on 2/15/21. Truck driven several times without problem, but several days later, problem occurred again, fan on high, temp gauge inoperative. Has been intermittent since, with normal function in between identical malfunction episodes.

About a year ago, I started getting a slight shudder in my transmission so I took it to the dealer for repair. They couldn't get it to shudder. Several times I'll be driving down the road at or around 45mph and the truck will start shuddering so bad I feel like I have to pull off the road. Every time I take it to the dealer for repair I end up losing my truck for a day and they tell me they can find anything wrong even though this is a known issue and there is a tsb out to fix the issue.

I have a 2018 Chevrolet Colorado 3.6L. I have had a rattle noise on cold start that would happen every so often. Now that I'm 1K miles out of powertrain warranty this rattle noise happens just about every time I start my truck. It is caused by the variable timing actuator on the camshaft. I am an automotive technician, and I'm very familiar with variable timing actuators. The problem is the lock pin in the actuator does not function properly when you turn the vehicle off causing it to drain all the oil out of it. This causes the actuator to rattle around until it get oil pressure. This will eventually causing issues with your timing chain and other components internally in the engine. Very disturbing that GM keeps making vehicles that work fine, usually, until they have gotten out of warranty. Let me also state that I regularly change my oil with the recommended oil and well before it's due. Not very happy!

My Colorado has completely shut down/powered off when making a right hand turn. Twice now. I'll be coming to a complete stop, accelerating through the turn and then all of the sudden, without warning, the truck loses all power. No flashing dash, nothing. I have to coast to the shoulder of the road, turn on the hazards, put in park, and restart the vehicle. This has happened twice now. From some online forums I've read, the problem only seems to get worse and has happened to others around 30-40 mph. My car is still under manufacturing warranty for another 500 or so miles. I took my truck into a certified Chevy repair shop and after a week of troubleshooting and trying to recreate the problem, they have found "nothing" wrong with the car. If this doesn't get fixed and continues to occur, it's only a matter of time before an accident happens.

The torquer converter its the problem I find out a day on highway I was driving and the truck lose power it takes time to move to other gear and make a weird sound I take the truck to the Chevy dealer and they just flush the transmission fluid and they said will fix the problem but after that get it worse it claps when put it in reverse or drive it use to shakes when you driving even at not high speed. The problem is not solve and the guy from the dealer told me GMC will not let them change the part is his own words. He said you have a good warranty don't worry but I need solution and the dealer doesn't show any interest to fix my truck problem, I have to rent a car apparently was cover for my insurance but a week later they call me because they have a issue with the car I rent and just rented for 24 hours. Is why I'm doing this complaint to find someone can help me and finally my truck get fix.

I have a 2018 Chevrolet Colorado lt 4WD crew cab. Multiple times on a cold start the engine is misfiring. The check engine like comes on, the vsa, and T/C lights all come on and a notification on the dash saying stabilitrak is disabled. The vehicle shakes terribly. The check engine light will flash and then go solid. I am an automotive technician. I know that a misfire should set a hard dtc. When the vehicle is turned off and started several hours later there is no check engine light or any other light on. The dealership in marysville, oh had my truck for 3 days and told me they cleaned a bunch of terminals at several connectors. Whatever that is supposed to do. They said they started the vehicle several times after and everything was good. The next day after I picked the truck up, it did the same exact thing! extremely frustrating! I know a continuous misfire let's unburned fuel into the catalytic converter which leads to premature breakdown of the catalyst. So my question is what is being done about these issues? another issue is with the transmission. On a cold start there is a clunk noise. Then when you are driving at cruising speed and you let off the throttle and depress throttle again there is a shudder. Also, when you come to a complete stop the vehicle tries to jolt forward. This is extremely concerning especially on a vehicle with roughly 18,000 miles on it. This needs to be addressed promptly!!

Upon accelerating the vehicle onto a 3 lane road, all warning lights came on in the vehicle. A warning message presented on the dashboard stating "engine power reduction" and then the vehicle shut down completely while moving. The engine shut off and the vehicle would not disengage from park. Vehicle had to be towed from the location. At the dealership, the dealer informed me the engine throttle body and intake tube duct hose should be replaced. He also informed me GM is aware of this issue with the vehicle and has not developed a permanent fix for the issue.

While driving home, yellow check engine light came on & I noticed reduction of oil pressure. Parked in driveway, shut off engine, went inside. Upon returning, noticed significant amount of oil on driveway. Dipstick showed no oil. Towed to dealership. They verified leaking came from defective oil cooler line hose. Waited several days for replacement part. This is a new 2018 Colorado Z71 with only 5K miles on engine. And, this is a systemic problem that GM has known about since 2015 and impacts both Colorado and canyon models (there are several complaints on web). This is a dangerous problem and should be investigated before someone gets hurt. It was not a slow leak. Obviously, it is manufacturing problem. Additional information (invoice and pictures) available upon request.
