Just bought truck from Whiteside Chev/Dodge in Mt. Sterling Ohio. On trip home to KY I noticed it seemed to have a problem shifting but attributed it to "new & getting used to it". Yesterday I put 542 miles on truck and noticed that it shifted very hard several times, up or down after sitting in I75 bridge traffic out of Cincinnati and it seemed to vibrate at 75/80 mph.. This worried me so I did a search and learned that the 8 spd trans is known to have problems like this. The truck is almost out of warranty and I can't afford to have a significant repair bill (retired on fixed income) thus I am filing this complaint and will take it to the local Chev/Cadi dealer on Monday. Appreciate any assistance you may provide...
My wife and I were starting out on a trip, but after 3-4 miles at highway speeds the transmission started vibrating every time the gas pedal was pressed. The vibration became frequent and more intense, and after about 25 miles of driving that we had to return home.
At 45+ mph, the transmission starts vibrating and can be easily felt in the steering wheel and in the seat. Service department could not repeat the problem. No resolution.
The transmission shifts into low gear descending a hill after tapping brakes and never shifted on acceleration. Service department could not duplicate the problem. No solution.
The transmission vibrates, changes gears erratically and severe jolt when transmission changed gears at highway speed. Started at 45+ mph. Took it into dealership. Service department said the a different transmission fluid was needed and that would correct the problem. It didn't.

I am driving from Houston to San Antonio on interstate 10 going around 70mph and the truck is vibrating frequently but intermittently about every 100 yards. I called the dealership they could not help/tell me what was wrong only to take it to a dealership on the way. I am heading to Midland, Texas if it breaks I will take it in then....BRAND NEW VEHICLE 16K miles should not have any issues. To me it is an engineering defect.
