The hesitation when going from 40-6mph to around 20-25mph and trying to get back up to speed has been a really frustrating experience. The truck tends to hesitate and feel like it wants to lose power unless I mash the accelerator. I never took it in to the dealer and complained because I read so many other posts of other customers not being able to get this issue resolved. I've sort of learned to live with it but it definitely affected how I felt about this vehicle. The truck is nice to look at but not so fun to drive. This issue can also lead to potentially dangerous driving situations.
There's a couple of workarounds I've discovered. Putting it into towing mode keeps the truck in lower gears longer, rather than being in 5th gear while only driving 40mph. I've also resorted to putting it in manual mode and doing my own shifting. I can control the gear selection and therefore avoid the hesitations but this is not something I want to do everyday. Since I bought this truck, I've been frequently asked by others how I like the truck and whether I would recommend it. Not once have I recommended this truck to anyone. This truck will ultimately become my second vehicle after I find a better driving car. It won't be a Chevy though!
