The stabilitrak and power steering goes out intermittently. This is the same part and part number as the ones that were recalled on the 2015 models. It makes no sense for the 2015 part to be recalled and not rhr 2016 when it-??s the same problem with the same part number. This causes the steering to freeze and almost caused a fatality without any warning. Please look at the 2015 Colorado recalls to see the documentation This has been happening for the past year and now it-??s become more common

I get an intermittent power steering and Stabilitrak warning when driving, and the warning causes my power steering to shut down. The fault clears when I stop the truck and shut off the engine, but it reoccurs at regular intervals ranging from once per week to twice in one day. I took the truck to my local Chevrolet dealer, and they did a programming upgrade to the power steering module and a front-end alignment. This did not fix the problem. It appears that my truck has the same fault that caused the 2015 model to be recalled, so I would expect the dealer to be able to identify the problem.

This 2016 Chevy pick up the right fronttire boke loose of the vehical and caused the vehicle to wreck into another car. The suspension on the lower attachment point broke away around the lower tyrod attachment point. The upper broke also at the attachment point. These parts are made of cast aluminum and have the lower tyrod where it attaches on is a tapered part if it is tightened to much T wil cause the casting to crack.it appears that this part had a crack in the part. I am a 49 year machinist nd see that the part is a pore design and is a low grade of cast aluminum use to attach this critical part of the vehicle. This vehicle was traveling less than15 mph when this occurred. Please look into this and let me know if you need more information. Was at shop returning truck to install ordered electrical parts on 3/13/18, when the installer called me over to show me an extremely large gash in tire tread, complete width of middle tread and about 7 inches in length. (have photo)leaving the membrane exposed. I was there on Friday 3/9/18 with initial repairs & this was not noted! ( tires were balance due to outage of wire for ABS) I drove back home 50 miles on Friday, did not move the truck all weekend, till my return on Tuesday (13th). When discovered. He advised me to get this repaired immediately! I drove cautiously approx. 4 miles to local Chevrolet dealership (reliable) it was around 4pm, I explained that I did not have appointment, and needed immediate attention due to damaged tire ready to blow out! I explain this looked like manufacture defect. Needless to say none was covered by insurance, I paid out of pocket $274.24. I am so thankful I did not have a blow out driving to albuquerque, nm this is highway most of the way, with speed limit 70 mph. And most grateful my 3 grandkids were not with me, , as I frequently pick them up from school. This could of definitely been devastating. The service dept. Assumed I ran over something. This is a newer truck I only have 9688 miles on it, and careful to watch what is on the roads. As this was the driver rear tire involved, the front was not affected at all" is this possible it is a manufactured defect " I have never had this happen to a tire on my vehicles before, as I am 65 yrs old. Do I have to wait for this to happen to another tire on this vehicle from this company with possible tragic results. I will do my diligence in inspecting tires before I leave, but this could of happen as I drive traveling once again on highways.

Truck sits uneven from side to side. 1" difference at rear wheel wells when sitting on a level surface with no load in the bed and a 1/2 " difference in the front side to side. The rear overload spring leaf with rubber bumper touches upper adjacent spring leaf with no load in the bed on the driver side. Not sure if this could be a safety concern if there is a load placed in the bed causing issues in how the truck handles or could be causing premature tire wear or other issues with other suspension parts.I have been informed that this is a known issue with other Colorado trucks by the dealership I purchased the from. This truck came off of the dealership lot with this problem and GM tech. Assist. Is aware. After almost 3 months nothing has been done.

The contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Colorado. While the vehicle was at the dealer, the technician diagnosed that the wiring harness had fractured. As a result, there were various electrical failures, including illumination of the air bag and traction control warning indicators. The technician stated that the wiring harness needed to be shrink wrapped. The vehicle was repaired. While the vehicle was in park or while driving at various speeds, the vehicle vibrated. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, but was unable to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that a technician would be sent out to inspect the vehicle. The failure mileage was 176.
