The first fix, a torque converter lasted just under a year and about 20,000 miles. Now I need the whole tranny. It would be nice if there was a better tranny to put in there. It just seems like the torque of the diesel is too much for this transmission, especially if you tow anything. My camper is only about 2500lbs and the truck is rated for 7700lbs towing capacity. Ha! But this recurrence was without towing much at all, only 10 days with the camper last fall and a few one-hour trips this spring. It should be able to handle driving a trailer across country and more! But, no, I can't go while I wait for warranty companies to drag their feet and for GM to send a new or reman tranny. And how long will the next one last? I'll be out of warranties if it ever breaks again. Otherwise, the truck is great...
