On oct. 5, 2015 I took my 2015 Chevy Colorado in to the dealer for a noise. The technician drove it and comfirmed it was from the rear end. He then drained the rear end and the drain plug had metal on it. Then then put in a order for a new rear end housing. Its now Nov. 8, 2015 and nothing has showed up. I'm looking for other options and help. Thanks

On September 28, 2015 I took my Colorado in to have the differential checked because of a terrible noise. The dealership tore it down and found a bad ring gear and pinion. The ring gear and pinion were factory defects. They ordered the parts from GM and to this date, October 11, 2015, they have been unable to obtain the parts needed. Most of the parts could be purchased at a parts store. The ring gear and pinion could not be purchased at a parts house. We are told there won't be one available until the current production of this truck is finished. No telling how long this will take. The truck is sitting at Stan McNabb dealership up in the air keeping that space from being used. We have contacted GM and everyone else we can think of to no avail. There were no rental trucks available because we had an airplane fly-in here in town and all the vehicles at all the rental places were out. There are times when we need a truck. Is this the new policy of GM. We have had GM products for close to 60 years and have never encountered a problem such as this.

Update from Oct 12, 2015: We talked with someone on Saturday and we were supposed to be contacted by an important person this morning at 8:00 am, Monday October 12. We have not had a word from anyone remotely involved with General Motors. We are thoroughly disgusted with all the car manufacturers.

Update from Oct 13, 2015: On the sixteenth day our 2015 Colorado has been in the shop due to differential trouble, they still have no parts to repair it. This is October 13, 2015.

Update from Oct 17, 2015: After eighteen days in the shop we have our Colorado home. We have no complaints about the dealer, Stan McNabb in Tullahoma, Tennessee. They offered to do anything we wanted to make us happy. They are extending the warranty and are giving us new floor mats. They also vacuumed the inside and washed the outside of the truck. It might help that we have bought cars from them for many, many years. Right now we are happy with the outcome. This ring gear was probably bad from the beginning and should have been caught on the assembly line.
