5 amp in-line DLIS fuse blows (under dash). My truck stalls out with no start. Happens at any time - in town, highway driving (very dangerous) - anywhere, anytime. Lose power steering and most control when it happens. Dashboard readout shows low fuel, traction control service. Very costly with tows. Lost pay from no show at work!
I'm still trying to solve problem. Replaced ignition switch and fuse. Did a BCM relearn, truck started and ran for 4 days, then the fuse blew and stalled out again on the highway. Tried 2 more fuses but they blew, and I got towed home AGAIN. Checked for short to ground at fuse, all clear! Replaced fuse, truck started. Dash board diagnostics cleared. Did the tow home clear the short??? I'm gonna check wiring, maybe replace BCM, theft det. module. After that I'm at the mercy of the dealer?? Who may or may not find an issue...
Can't find anything on the cause from any posts on line. It's real risky to drive. Real bummer. I can't trust my truck or GM anymore. If anyone can help I would be grateful. Thanks.
