The contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet Colorado. While driving 35 mph, the brake pedal required excessive force in order to stop the vehicle. The failure occurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the rear brake drums failed. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 105,000.
The contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet Colorado. The contact stated there was a self-adjusting spring that was accumulating dirt and debris. As a result, there was a hole worn in the brake drum and causing the brakes to fail intermittently. The dealer advised that the failure was an environmental issue. The brake drums were replaced at the contact's expense by the dealer. The contact believed the failure to be a defect in manufacturing.
