Ok, so I noticed the tires were wearing on the inside (feathering in a saw tooth pattern). took it to the dealership and there was defective tie rod to blame. They had to replace the entire rack and pinion to fix it. the only problem was it was on back order for over a month. I drive alot, and had added 2500 miles to the truck before they could fix it, not to mention the miles before I noticed the problem. They get it fixed and then i ask gm, what about the tires/ gas. The front tires were now terribly worn on the inside, and I lost mpg because it was out of alignment and couldn't be adjusted till they got the new part. they said, too bad. After tons of fighting, I went to the BBB (you know, the better business place). 2 days later GM was calling me, making me an offer to have free oil changes and yadda yadda. I took the offer because i had swapped the tires onto the back of the truck and they were worn back into a better pattern now. So, I drove it to Florida for an internship about 3 months later, and as soon as i got there, my powersteering made a loud whine when turning to park at low speeds. Took it to the dealer, and they said. there is a problem, but it specs out when they test it, and to drive it till it breaks, then they will replace it. I told them to screw off and traded it in on an 07 silverado
